MargaretMargaret S. Smith, 91 of Houston, entered into rest on Monday, June 16, 2014 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Smith was born on May 9, 1923 in Collinsville, IL. She attended Collinsville Township High School in Collinsville, IL and Miss Hickeys School of Business in St.Louis, MO. She was of the Lutheran faith. She worked as a Private Secretary for Western Cartridge Company (Division of Olin Industries) in East Alton, IL. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), Beta Sigma Phi and Belair Women’s Club in Huntsville. She enjoyed crocheting (taught at Whitesburg Jr. High School), genealogy, PTA and loved to travel.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 20, 2014 from 5-7pm at Nichols Funeral Home in Addison, where services will be held at 7pm. Reverend Ray Robinson and Reverend Mr. Kevin Kanter will officiate. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at 11am at Maple Hill Cemetery in Huntsville.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband of 67 years, Arthur A. Smith; sons, Mark A. Smith and his wife Rebecca, Keith W. Smith and his wife Elaine, Scott A. Smith and his wife Donna; daughters, Karen S. Howard-Nordan and her husband Harry Nordan; Shelley S. Curtiss; sister, Mary Adda Caminiti and her husband Frank; she was Grandma to 7 grandchildren, Heath A. Curtiss, Dana P. Howard, Amber Rae Perkowski, Anna S. Teal, Robert A. Smith, Patricia S. Eicholtz, Jennifer L. Smith; and 2 step-grandchildren, Ashley H. White, William C. Hodge; great grandchildren, Logan White, Raechel Anne Lester, Annalise Curtiss and Harper Curtiss.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Amos and Margaret Stewart; brothers, Lester Stewart, Amos Stewart, Jr.; and sister, Norma Helen Smith.
