Margaret S. King, 92, of Iuka, Mississippi, died Thursday, August 1, 2013, at Southern Magnolia Estates in Iuka. Mrs. King was a long-time and very active member of the Iuka Baptist Church. She and her husband participated in several Youth Mission trips abroad, and she documented the daily details of the trips in a journal that was later published. She was a former member of the Iuka Twentieth Century Club, and was involved in helping the organization to win the “Build a Better Community” contest for Iuka in 1950. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. King loved to cook, and was known affectionately as “The Fried Pie Lady”. Visitation is scheduled for 1:00 until 5:00 p.m., Sunday, August 4, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 5, at the Iuka Baptist Church. The body will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to service time. Services will be officiated by Bro. Gary Watkins and Bro. Jim Manley. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers include Pete Walker, Earl Walker, Dion Amerson, Joe Borden, James Grisham, Eric Cooper, Ronnie King, and Mike Murrah. Honorary Pallbearers include Dr. Ben Kitchens, Donnie Brown, Ned Boston, Douglas Cutshall, Emory Jones, and the staff of Southern Magnolia Estates in Iuka. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. Survivors include one son, Lucian King (Renee) of Byhalia, MS; two daughters, Barbara Cooper of Midway, GA, and Sue Kirby (Jay) of Iuka, MS; one sister, Joann Shankle of Paris, TN; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, J. B. “Toebuck” King; a grandchild, Luke King; her parents, Clarence and Lillie Scott; and a sister, Doris Willis. Memorial contributions may be made to the Iuka Baptist Church Youth Fund.
