margaretMargaret Eudell “Mardell” Mokaren, 91, passed away Monday, March 10, 2014, in Bedford, Texas.

Margaret Eudell Gentry was born on June 5, 1922, in Berea, Ky. to Carol Early and Peter Gentry. Mardell, as she was known, married Clarence Anderson “Mo” Mokaren in 1942. They were married for 67 years until his passing in 2009. Mardell and Mo enjoyed traveling after Mo’s retirement. They traveled extensively throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Mardell and Mo were avid golfers and enjoyed playing games, cards, and reading. Mardell was also a member of Chapter No. 537 of the Order of the Eastern Star in Brecksville, Ohio.

Upon moving to Texas, Mardell made many new friends at the Parkwood Retirement Community where she led a very active life.

Survivors are sons, Dennis Mokaren and wife, Liz, Dale Mokaren and wife, Kathy, and Doug Mokaren and wife, Emily; grandchildren, Marissa Mokaren, David Mokaren and wife, Kristin, Deanna Mokaren, Debra Kellar and husband, Ben, Bill Morgan and wife, Cathey, and Teresa Simmons and husband, David; and seven great-grandchildren.

The family would like to give special thanks to the wonderful nurses who took care of Mardell at the Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital in HEB ICU, especially Natalie, Thao, Julie, and Christine.

Services are 2 p.m. Saturday at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst, Texas. Inurnment will be at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive guests one hour prior to services.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that donations be made in her name to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or the American Cancer Society . –
