Mr. Brown was born on December 2, 1939 to Eaddy J. and Etoile Weaver Brown in Hemingway, South Carolina. He moved his family from Birmingham in 1974 to become the Chief Draftsman for Ingalls Ironworks in Decatur, Alabama. Manning loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, Alabama football, and the Atlanta Braves. He was a loving husband, dad, grandfather and great-grandfather. His kindness and love will endure in the hearts of all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Janie Pennington Brown; his sons, Greg Brown; Jeff Brown (Jill); David Brown (Leah); four grandchildren, Taylor Brown; Christina McMillion (Mason); Ali Brown; Erin Montgomery (Tevin); great-granddaughter, Crosby Jane McMillion; his sister, Kayse Harshaw (Phil); and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family would like to say a special thank you to his caregivers over the past few months and his many friends and neighbors.
His friends and family will serve as his pallbearers.
