Man Arrested After Allegedly Trying To Lure Children Into His Van

FLORENCE-The Florence Police released a statement regarding a man who attempted to entice children into his van:

“Vester Keith Jackson, 56, of Florence was arrested following reports that he attempted to entice two children into his van in the area of Weeden Heights.

Officers responded after a mother saw a man in a white panel van attempt to entice her children into the van. When the mother screamed the man left. He was later stopped by patrol officer and was identified by the mother.

He was interviewed by detectives and charged with two counts of Interference with the Custody of a Child. He is currently being held in the LCDC on bond totaling $50,000.”
