MaeFuneral services for Mrs. Mae Ellenwood, age 96, are scheduled for 11 AM, Wednesday, June 19 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Tiffin, Ohio. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pafford Funeral Home is in charge of the local arrangements and Traunero Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements in Tiffin, Ohio.

Mrs. Ellenwood, the daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Johnson Hamrick, died Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at her daughter’s residence in Lexington. She was originally from Tiffin, Ohio where she was the owner and operator of the Snyder Hotel until her retirement in the mid 1970’s. Mrs. Mae was blessed with great health and enjoyed many hobbies: playing cards, cooking, gardening and canning, golf, bowling and she was an avid reader. But her greatest love was her family and grandchildren.

Survivors include her nine children: Margaret “Peg” Terry of Lexington, Kathleen “Kathy” Free of Tiffin, Debra “Deb” Dodson of Bettsville, OH, Sally Wagner and Vivian “Kay” Schmucker both of Tiffin, James “Jim” Snyder of Bowling Green, OH, Thomas “Tom” Snyder of Tiffin, Charles “Chuck” Snyder of Bettsville and Dick Snyder of Lexington. There are also 30 grandchildren, 52 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren surviving. Preceding Mrs. Ellenwood in death were two brothers: Robert and Robert Charles Snyder.
