Mae Colleen Lawrence, 72, of Lakeview, OH, passed away early Tuesday morning, October 8, 2024, at her home.
Mae was born on February 14, 1952, in Decatur, AL, a daughter of the late John and Callie Broadley Hill. She is also preceded in death by a son, Rodney Barnes, and a sister, Charlotte Morris.
Colleen married Ronnie Lawrence on September 14, 2001, in Dallas, TX, and he survives. Colleen is also survived by a son, Brandon Barnes of Decatur, AL, a stepson, Jamie (Jennifer) Lawrence of Ada, OH, two granddaughters, Addisyn and Autumn Lawrence, a sister, Carolyn (Allen) Morgan of Decatur, a brother, Gene (Candy) Hill of Clarksville, TN, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Colleen earned her art degree from Calhoun College. She worked as a beautician until she retired. Colleen was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Lakeview. She enjoyed drawing, painting, and gardening.
A gathering of Family and Friends will be held at Shoffstall Funeral Home, 205 S Main St., Lakeview on Saturday, October 12, 2024, from 6-8 pm. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 pm, Saturday, October 19, 2024 at Shelton Funeral Home, 2105 Beltine Road S. W., Decatur, AL with visitation from 10-1 pm. Burial will follow in Oak Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery in Trinity, AL.
