Mable Irene McCollum, age 80, of Leighton, died Monday, February 11, 2013. Visitation will be Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013, 6-9 at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. Her funeral service will be Thursday, 1 p.m. at Zion Hill Baptist Church, with Thomas Thornton officiating. Burial will follow in Bethsaida Cemetery
Mrs. McCollum was a Colbert County native, a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church, The Sunshine Club and an honorary member of the LaGrange Volunteer Fire Department. She was preceded in death by her husband, Curt McCollum.
She is survived by her sons, Bobby McCollum and wife Norma, James “Jimmy” McCollum and wife Krystle; daughters, Brenda Romans and husband Edward, Eva Romans and husband Wesley; brother, George Mason; sisters, Lela Hall, Ester Speegle, fourteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Grandsons will be pallbearers.
Mrs. McCollum’s family would like thank Cottage of The Shoals and AlaCare Hospice for their loving and kind care of our Mother and Grandmother.
