Lynda Corrine Bowling, age 74 of Pleasant View, Tennessee, died Friday, January 14, 2022 at TriStar NorthCrest Medical Center.
Funeral services will be conducted at Good Springs Free Will Baptist Church in Pleasant View at 1:00PM on Wednesday, January 19th, with Bro. Randy Riggs, Bro. Bob Hamm, Pastor Mike Hollis, and Bro. Randy Hester officiating. Burial will follow in Good Springs Cemetery with James Simmons, Kenneth “Bobby” Simmons, Glen Simmons, Brian Cothran, Blake Atkinson, and Wesley Bowling serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Johnny Wallace, Larry Shadowens, Wayne Hunter, and Lamar Smith.
The family will receive friends at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View on Tuesday, January 18th from 4:00PM until 8:00PM and again on Wednesday at the church from 11:00AM until the hour of service at 1:00PM.
Mrs. Bowling was born on October 6, 1947 in Ashland City, Tennessee to the late James & Mabel Morris Simmons. She was a retired Information Technology Specialist. She was a tremendous cook who enjoyed vegetable & flower gardening, organizing events for the Good Springs Senior Saints, and getting away to the mountains where she could sit in her rocking chair on the porch of the cabin. Mrs. Bowling was very devoted to her family and was a member of Good Springs Free Will Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her granddaughter, Katie Pulley; and her brother-in-law Jesse Hogue.
Survivors include her husband of 27 years, Neil Bowling; sons, Larry Wayne (Amy) Pulley and Wesley (Misty) Bowling; daughters, Tracy (Brian) Cothran and Janie (Donny) Bowling; brothers, James (Jewel) Simmons, Kenneth “Bobby” (Linda) Simmons, and Glen (Beverly) Simmons; sister, Janice Hogue; sister-in-law and best friend, Karen Smith; grandchildren, Blake (Emma) Atkinson and Macie Cothran; and great-grandchild, Maverick Atkinson.
