Lucy A. Stutts, 60, of Florence, passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at her home following a courageous battle with cancer. Her family was by her side.
Visitation for family and friends will be at Elkins Funeral Home Saturday beginning at 9:00 a.m. The funeral will follow in the Chapel at 11:00 a.m. with Bro. Steve Bender officiating. Burial will follow in the Butler Cemetery.
Lucy is survived by her husband Eddie Stutts; children Justin Stutts and Amanda, Ricky Allen and Linda, and Crystal Young; grandchildren Michael Pierce, Christopher Kryston, Charlie Sandlin, Michelle Kryston, Jenci Stutts, Jaydon Stutts, Ansley Stutts, Allana Allen , Alleia Allen and Tristan Haynes; sisters and brothers Margaret Owens and Jerry, Glenda Whitman, Linda Dickerson and Ronnie, Calvin Dison, William Dison and Jean, Billy Dison and Sarah Sobo and Leo; 14 nieces, 15 nephews, special friends Kaye Richardson, Marilyn Nichols , Shirley Lanier and Laura Bourdon.
She was preceded in death by her mother Lettie Dison, father Mack Dison, brother George Dison, brother James Dison, sister Emmajean Jackson and Dessie Moore.
Pallbearers will be Paul Dempsey, Jesse Dempsey, Joel Dempsey, Wayne Allen, Jr., Jesse Victory and Jamie Victory. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Pierce and Christopher Kryston.
The family offers special thanks to the doctors and staff at UAB, the staff at Hospice of the Shoals and caregivers Amanda Jones and Danielle Evans.
