Loyce Gilliland White, age 84 of Houston Alabama, passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at Hendrix Health and Rehabilitation Center in Double Springs surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born June 26, 1939 to Walter Nolan and Iris Gilliland. Loyce loved her family and was a devoted Christian, giving her life to Christ at an early age. She was an excellent seamstress and made beautiful clothes for herself at an early age and then for her daughters when they were young.
Visitation will be Friday, April 26, 2024 from 1:30pm until 2:30pm at Nichols Funeral Home in Double Springs, where services will begin at 2:30pm in the Chapel. Burial will be at Houston Community Cemetery in Houston, Alabama. Dr. G. Lance Hogan and Rev. Kenneth Sudduth will officiate.
Loyce is survived by her husband, Robert Allen White; children, Jennifer W. (Carl) West, Melanie W. (G. Lance) Hogan, and Christopher A. (Debbie) White; grandchildren, Allyn C. Hanks (Matthew Baxley), G. Thadeus (Heather) Hogan, Taylor W. (Savannah) Hogan, Chasity N. White, Kaylie C. White, Morgan K. Burroughs, and Megan L. Burroughs; great grandchildren, Walker J. Hogan, Nora T. Hogan, Hazel K. Chitwood, and Carter Rose Conley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Nolan, and Iris Collier Gilliland; sisters, Joyce G. (Tom) Frazier, Yvonne G. Taylor, Toy Mae “Faye” G. Harris and one grandson, Jesse Whiten Hogan.
