Louise Marie Henson Dowdy, age 93, of Florence, passed away Monday, Jan. 13, 2014. We believe that, today, Mother is in the arms of Jesus. Marie was a lifelong member of the Apostolic Pentecostal Faith and loved the New Life Tabernacle Church family as her own. It was so much a part of her life. She will be greatly missed on that front pew.
The viewing will be Friday, Jan. 17, 2014, from 6-8 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014, at 1 p.m. in Greenview Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Bobby Crosswhite and the Rev. Kenny Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Mrs. Dowdy was preceded in death by her ever-loving husband, Delmer Felton Dowdy; parents, William Thomas and (shouting) Mary Henson; five brothers; and three sisters.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathryn Dorontich (Robert); son, Larry Dowdy (Becky); six grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Building Fund of the New Life Tabernacle, 2004 Ford Road, Muscle Shoals, AL 35661.
