Obituary of Louis Wayne Epperson Louis W. Epperson, age 76, of Boaz, Alabama, passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2026.

A celebration of Louis’ life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 15, 2026, at Church on the Rock with Pastor Mark Kurtz and Bishop Stan Davidson officiating. Burial will follow at Rainbow Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 14, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Church on the Rock.

Louis was a graduate of Gadsden High School and proudly served his country in the United States Navy for three years. He was a man of many interests and talents, enjoying collecting, trading, and competitive marksmanship. He had a passion for antique cars and antiques and loved investing in his family and in the lives of others. An accomplished marksman, Louis won numerous trophies for his shooting abilities. He faithfully served as Treasurer of Church on the Rock for more than 20 years, dedicating countless hours to the church he loved.

Above all, Louis was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend whose life was centered around his family and his faith. He will be remembered for his generosity, his servant’s heart, and the love he shared with those around him.

He was preceded in death by his son, David Taylor; his nephew, Devron Epperson; his mother, Undine Epperson; and his father, Ruric Epperson.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Brenda Epperson; his children, Suzy Hood (Tim), Michael Taylor (Miranda), Christy Clifton (Devlin), and Caitlain Idowu (Jide), whom he loved as a granddaughter and raised as his own; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, with “Little Lou” expected to arrive in August; his siblings, James Epperson, Bobby Epperson, Harold Epperson, Deborah Machen, and Donna Nail; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, church family, and friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jide Idowu, Taylor Mitchell, Devlin Clifton, Tavius Clifton, Braxton Taylor, and Braye Taylor.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to his hospice nurse, Emily, of SouthernCare New Beacon Hospice, the Church on the Rock family, their immediate and extended family members, and a special thank you to Pastor Mark Kurtz and Bishop Stan Davidson, along with their families, for their love, support, and faithful ministry during this difficult time.

The Epperson family is being cared for by Collier-Butler Funeral Home & Cremation Services, which is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.
