Louie Robin, 75, of Huntsville, passed away peacefully on Thursday with his loving wife of 52 years, Edith, at his side.
Louie was born, Alois Cervenka in Prague, Czech Republic. In 1969 he immigrated to Australia with his wife and son, Paul. Louie and Edith founded a successful automotive repair company in Sydney and the family enjoyed many years on their farm in the Glenorie area. Louie was an avid tennis fan. He introduced his son to the sport and in recent years was very involved in his grandsons’ tennis. After Paul attended university in the United States and settled in Alabama, Louie and Edith then moved to Huntsville.
Louie loved his years in America and was extremely patriotic to his new country. He continued his work restoring and repairing automobiles. Besides his lifelong love of working on cars, Louie enjoyed the ocean, fishing, and music. He took great joy and pride in his grandsons, who loved him dearly and called him “Poppie”. His son and grandsons share many of his talents and passions. He will be greatly missed by his family and many dear friends he had throughout the world.
Louie is survived by his wife, Edith Robin; brother, Slava Cervenka of Prague; son, Paul Robin (Tristenne) of Huntsville; and three grandsons, Paul Jozef Robin, Luke Fischer Robin, and Charles Louis Robin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alois Cervenka and Venceslava Cervenkova; brother, Emil Cervenka; and sister, Cilka Cervenkova.
A private family memorial service will be held at a future time.
