Louie L. Morton, 96, formerly of Birmingham, passed away July 11, 2013, at the Baptist Health Care Center. Louie was retired from Butler Manufacturing in Birmingham. Preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Taylor Morton; parents, Rado and Laverne Morton; and sister, Jewel Sealy. Survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Randall and Melinda Morton of Lenoir City, Donald and Betty Morton of Huntsville; daughter, Shawn Morton and husband, Mark Buff of Richmond, Va.; grandchildren, Wesley, Emily and Patrick; brother, Raymond Morton of Decatur; brothers-in-law, Sherman Taylor and wife, Ruth, of Birmingham; sister-in-law, Ruby Swords of Sharpsburg, Ga.; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Special thanks to the staff at Baptist Healthcare Center and Dr. Patel for his loving care.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City. Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. in the chapel with the Rev. David Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery. Full military honors will be conferred by the Loudon CountyVeterans Honor Guard.
