Mr. Louie Deprez Hargett, Jr., 84, a native of Lauderdale County, passed away on Tuesday, February 12, 2013. Louie was an avid runner and founding member of the Florence Track Club. He enjoyed playing his guitar and jamming with his Blue Grass friends. Louie was a longtime member of the Wood Avenue Church of Christ. He was a U.S. Army veteran and retired from Ford Motor Company and Reynolds Aluminum as an Instrument Mechanic. He was a member of I.B.E.W. for forty-five years.

Visitation will be Friday, February 15, 2013 from 1 – 3 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home with the funeral service beginning at 3 p.m. in Greenview Memorial Chapel. Officiating will be Kenneth Davis. Interment will follow in Greenview Memorial Park.
Mr. Hargett was preceded by his wife of 53 years, Ella Jean Hargett; son, Franklin Deprez Hargett; parents, Louie Deprez Hargett, Sr. and Abbie Lena Coupland Hargett; sister, Julia Melton; brothers, Bruce and Charles Hargett.
He is survived by his sons, William Curtis Hargett (Rachel), and Jack Paul Hargett (Jazmine); sisters, Mildred Marks and Ada Ruth Marks; grandchild, Carrie Anne Hargett.
Active pallbearers will be Richard Hargett, Steve Melton, Jerry Morris, Sammy Morris, Ray Weeks, and Bill Morrison.
Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Holden, Pete Buffington, Tom Price, Roy Morris, Carl Williams, Jack Crutchfield, Alton Cleghorn, and Glen England.
