Mr. Lonzo Manuel Burgess age 85 of Morrison, TN, died Saturday, July 11, 2020, at St. Thomas River Park Hospital in McMinnville, TN. He was born December 22, 1934, in Overton County, TN, was a retired employee of Carrier Corporation, and was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years Lillie Dean Burgess, parents Jesse Hershel and Nannie Belle Mayberry Burgess, a sister Cezillia Barrett, brother David Burgess, and granddaughter Emily Boyd.
Survivors include his children Terry Eugene (Debbie) Burgess, Teresa Burgess, Tanzie Swim, Tammy Boyd, and Tonya (Steve) Page, 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, sisters Mary Etta Bouldin, Delilah (Larry) Watson, and Zodell Jones, and brothers Harlan Burgess, Carlie (Armanda) Burgess, Arvil Burgess, and Daniel (Monica) Burgess. Many nieces, nephews, family members, and friends also survive.
Funeral service 2:00 P.M. Monday, July 13, 2020, in the McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Jason Nunley will officiate. Interment will follow at Bascom Cemetery. The Burgess Family will receive friends Monday from 10 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. at the parlors of McMinnville Funeral Home.
