Recently my guest and I took a road trip just to get out of town. We traveled North on U.S. 43 into Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. As we drove through the City, we saw a Yellow and Blue Sign that reminded us on an old friend. Long John Silvers. For the youngsters reading this, there use to be a Long John Silvers in Muscle Shoals and Florence. We couldn’t pass it up. We stopped for lunch.

Entering the restaurant, it brought back fond memories of the Shoals area locations. We were promptly greeted by the Staff. First off, I am not a fish person. However, I love Long John Silvers Chicken Planks. So, that is what we ordered. Chicken Planks with fries along with their Sweet & Sour Sauce. The food came within 5 minutes, hot and fresh.

It was so good. The Chicken Planks were so hot they almost burned your tongue. The fries were the same way. Their Sweet and Sour Sauce is the bomb. Not too sweet and not too sour. The best of the meal was the “Crunchies”. I am not sure of their official name but they are the breaded crumbs that come on your plate. What could make this lunch better, of course, Another Chicken Plank and a small box of the “Crunchies.”
According to the internet, Long John Silvers was bought about by another and closed several locations. I know from a trip, that several locations in East North Carolina have been closed. That is such a shame.
So, if you are bored one day or just really hungry, make a trip to Lawrenceburg. Visit the Long John Silvers there. If you do, get me a 4 piece Chicken Plank meal with a box of “Crunchies. “
I am going to close this Restaurant Review with a rating of 4 Cheese Sticks out of 5.
