Lois Kelsey, 94 passed away Monday, October 28, 2013 at NHC Brink in Lawrenceburg, TN. She was a native of Lawrence County, TN. She was a homemaker and enjoyed working in her vegetable and flower gardens. She and her husband enjoyed farming and raising cattle. She was a member of Leoma Baptist Church.
She was the daughter of the late Essie Annie Oshie (Bates) Brown and Thomas Edward Brown. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Lester Kelsey; a son, John Lester Kelsey II; two grandsons, Jeffrey Carl Kelsey and James Larry (Jimmy) Kelsey II; one brother, Sherman Brown; seven sisters, Virgie Miller, Kathleen Kempson, Tommie Lemay, Irene Smith, Jessie Brown, Bessie Cagle, and Mildred Kempson.
She is survived by three sons, Vernon Carl Kelsey (Jennetta), Troy Edwin Kelsey (Priscilla), and James Larry Kelsey, all of Lawrenceburg, TN and a daughter-in-law, Mary Kelsey of Nashville, TN; 9 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren on the way, several nieces and nephews and many friends.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM Friday, November 01, 2013 at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 2:00 PM Friday, November 01, 2013, with Charles Gresham officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Leoma, TN. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to the Cedar Hill Cemetery Fund.
