Mrs. Lois Ann Helms Garrett, age 74, of Arab, passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at her residence.
Mrs. Garrett was born in Morgan County on October 4, 1944 to Anderson Tidwell Helms & Estelle Westbrooks Helms. She was married to the late Mr. Robert Marlin Garrett who passed on January 19, 2017. Mrs. Garrett retired from Chrysler. She enjoyed cooking, canning, sewing, puzzles, yard sales, listening to blue grass & gospel music. Mrs. Garrett loved spending time with her family, friends and her dog, Catfish.
She was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church.
Mrs. Garrett is survived by her daughters & son-in-law, Donna Wilks & Randy, Connie Garrett; son & daughter-in-law, Ricky Garrett & Tracy; grandchildren, Brittany Garrett Loftis & Cody, Kristin Wilks, Jessica Wilks, Brodie King, Kole King; brothers & sisters-in-law, George Marion Helms & Annette, William R. Helms & Sandy, Wendell Hugh Helms & Velma. Preceded in death by her parents, Anderson Tidwell Helms & Estelle Westbrooks Helms; husband, Robert Marlin Garrett.
Funeral service will be 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church with Bro. Gary McRae, Bro. Clint Maze & Bro. Radford Pritchett. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Baptist Church Cemetery with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing. Mrs. Garrett will lie-in-state one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church.
Pallbearers will include; Scott Helms, Rex Helms, John Helms, Lance Garrett, Lee Garrett, Clint Blackmon, Lavon Garrett, Gary Garrett, Jerry Garrett, James Johnson, John Kirkland, Rodney Garrett, Zack Cavender, Brodie King & Kole King.
