Linda Fay Anderson, 80, of Auburn, Alabama, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on July 23, 2026. She was born on May 27, 1946, in Athens, AL, to Raymond and Doris (Anerton) Anderson.
Linda is survived by her mother, Doris Anderson of Athens; sister, Gail Wales of Athens; brother, Ricky Anderson (Michele) of Tavares, FL; daughters, Kimberly Fay Lawhorn (Mark) of Auburn, AL, and Robin Ferguson Daughtry (Derek) of Gurley, AL; grandchildren, Joshua Lawhorn (Amanda), Andrew Lawhorn (Mackensie), Caleb Lawhorn (Kirsten), Elisabeth Lawhorn, Lydia Lawhorn, McKayla Ingrum (Andrew), Noah Daughtry, Gabriel Daughtry; and great-grandchildren, Luke Lawhorn, Landon Lawhorn, Hadassah Lawhorn, Hadley Lawhorn, Hazel Lawhorn, Aria Ingrum, and Elaina Ingrum.
She is preceded in death by her father, Raymond Anderson; brother-in-law, Jerry Wales; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild; and several other family members.
Linda was a talented and determined woman who helped establish businesses (including her own) and maintained bookkeeping for several companies. She also enjoyed sewing, painting, jewelry-making, and many other crafts. Using her creativity to bless others and teach the skills she had learned brought her great delight.
Linda was a member of Heritage Baptist Church. Through life’s peaks and valleys, Linda trusted in the Lord, and her family finds comfort in knowing she is now forever home in Heaven, healed and whole in the presence of her Savior. Known as Mom and Nana to her family, Linda gave of herself freely, loved deeply, and left a lasting imprint on the hearts of those who knew her.
A celebration of life/graveside ceremony will be on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at Athens City Cemetery (501 Washington Street East, Athens, AL 35611), at 11:00 a.m. Pallbearers will be family. Friends and family are welcome.
