Limestone County Sheriff’s Department Employee Accused Of Inappropriate Relationship With Inmate

LIMESTONE COUNTY-The Limestone County Sheriff’s Department released a statement concerning a suspected relationship with LSCO employee and an inmate:

“On Tuesday, December 5, 2023, the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office Investigation Unit received information about an inappropriate relationship between an inmate at the Limestone County Jail and a Sheriff’s Office Employee, Tracy Agnes Shehorn, 56, of Athens, AL.

At that time, both an internal and criminal investigation began. Investigators found probable cause to arrest Shehorn for Custodial Sexual Misconduct and Possession of a Controlled Substance.

At this time, Shehorn has been terminated from her position with the Sheriff’s Office.

Shehorn is released from the Limestone County Jail on a $12,500 bond. As the investigation continues, more charges are possible.”
