LIMESTONE COUNTY-On December 29th, 2024, Deputy Nathan Greene responded to a burglary at storage units in the 25000 block of Nick Davis Rd. After reviewing the area security video, Deputy Greene developed two suspects and notified Captain Caleb Durden. The suspects had a switched tag on the vehicle stolen from a local church. Shortly after Greene and Durden left the scene.
Offender Dana Helms returned, driving the same car and wearing the same clothes as she was when captured on security camera. The property owner called the Sheriff’s Office to notify us of the offender’s return, and deputies who were still in the area quickly responded. Deputy Greene and Lieutenant Richard Clanton were able to take Helms into custody, who was in possession of marijuana and stolen property. During the investigation, Captain Durden learned a possible location for other stolen items and the other offender.
Durden and Clanton responded to the Budget Inn in Ardmore, AL, and located Randall Turner, Abe Hiebert, and Larissa Nall in a room. About $5000 in stolen property was located with Turner. Turner, Hiebert, and Nall were also found to be in possession of Methamphetamine. Hiebert and Nall had possession of a cut catalytic converter without the proper paperwork. The stolen church tag was located in a dumpster at the motel.
