Lester Ray Martin, age 65, of Anderson passed away Thursday, June 6, 2013.
Visitation will be today, from 6-9 p.m. at Spry~Williams Funeral Home, Florence. The funeral service will be Sunday, June 9, 1:30 p.m. at Spry~Williams Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be at Rogersville Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Raymond Sandlin, Randy Burbank, Mike Martin, Kerry Montgomery, Stephen Martin and Mike Tank. Honorary Pallbearers will be Travis Daily, Billy C. Robertson and Eric Burbank.
Mr. Martin retired from Browns Ferry as an electrician, served as Union Steward before becoming disabled, member of IBEW Local #558 and American Legion Post 11, Florence, AL. He was a member of Appleton Church of Christ and a member of United Cherokee Ani-Yun-Wiya Nation.
He was a musician and singer who loved Bluegrass and Old Time Music and enjoyed the Smokey Mountains. He loved to fish and visiting and encouraging the sick when he was able.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lester N. Martin; paternal grandparents, Sula & Sam Martin; maternal grandparents, Izora & Raymond Reagin.
Survivors include his loving Wife of 24 years, Tamra Martin; Mother, Eleanor Martin;
Children, Karen E. Roberts, (Billy), Brandon N. Martin (Tammy); Brothers, Billy G. and Sammy Martin; Grandchildren, Kaleb Dison, Drew Dison & Madison Martin; and a loving Mother & Father-in Law, Hulon & Shirley Burbank.
