Lester Almond Brooks, 88, of Hollywood, Alabama, passed peacefully at his home on November 29, 2024. He married his wife, Ruby Ivey Brooks on March 17, 1956. Lester and Ruby raised 2 children, Roger and Stanley Brooks. Lester was a faithful member, deacon and song leader of Oak Grove Baptist Church. For many years, he was a member of the Calvary Boys, visited many churches and touched many lives.
Lester is survived by his wife, Ruby Ivey Brooks, his son, Roger (Debbie) Brooks, Grandson, Josh (Kate) Brooks, granddaughter, Amanda (Bret) Johnson, great-granddaughters, Abbie, Ryleigh and Bryleigh Brooks, great-grandsons, Brayson and Bentley Johnson, Sister, Francis Pearson, and daughter-in-law, Donna Brooks.
Lester was preceded in death by his parents, Ezra and Ida Brooks, father and mother-in-law, Jon and Ella Ivey, brothers, Richard, Kenneth, JM, Paul and Charles Brooks, Sister, Irene Brooks, Son, Stanley Brooks and grandson, Jeremy Brooks.
Funeral Services will be held at 11am on Monday, December 2, 2024 at Rudders Funeral Home in Stevenson, Alabama and the officiators will be Rev. Ricky Talley and Rev. Charles Underwood. Burial will follow in Pinehaven Memorial Gardens. The family with receive friends on Sunday, December 1, 2024 from 2pm- 8pm at the funeral home.
