Leroy Wilson Bibee, age 87, of Springfield, passed away Saturday, November 4, 2023 at his home. Funeral services will be conducted at 1pm Wednesday, November 8th in the chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with Bro. Doug Thornton officiating. Burial will follow in the Springfield Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 4-7pm Tuesday, and again from 12-1pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Bibee was born August 28, 1936 in Springfield to the late “Frank” and Annie “Eva” Morris Bibee. He was a U.S. Army veteran. People remember him best as their friendly trash truck driver for the city Public Works department or from the Precision Car Wash in White House.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Bibee was preceded in death by his brothers, Clifford Bibee, Richard Henry “R.H.” Bibee, Virgil Bibee, and Burns Bibee; and a sister, Annie Carroll.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Sylvia Bibee; son, Charlie (Cheryl) Bibee; daughters, Debbie (James) Walls, and Karen Bibee; 4 grandchildren, Riley (Kayla) Bibee, Cassidy Bruinga, Brian (Alesha) Mason, and Kellye Mason; and 7 great grandchildren, Hannah, Aiden, Averie, Liam, Layla, Kane, and Maple.
