Los Angeles – Leonard Nimoy, a man who’s brief, three-year tenure in “Star Trek” defined a generation of nerdy kids that wear the badge proudly to this day, passed away this morning. He succumbed to end-stage COPD.
His granddaughter, Dani, posted this on Twitter, “”Hi all, as you all know, my Grandpa passed away this morning at 8:40 from end-stage chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. He was an extraordinary man, husband, grandfather, brother, actor, author-the list goes on- and friend. Thank you for the warm condolences. May you all LLAP.”
After the Star Trek series, Nimoy went on to star as “Paris” in Mission Impossible. A few years later, the Star Trek movie franchise took off for a stellar run. And Nimoy worked through the years in numerous films and television appearances.
