Leona Pearl Chandler Griswell – Obituary

Leona Pearl Chandler Griswell age 71 passed away Sunday evening June 11, 2017 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

She was born March 14, 1946 in the Finger Community of McNairy County, the daughter of the late Emanuel Riley Chandler and Minnie Sula Hysmith Chandler. She went to school in the Finger Community. She married Garry Griswell in 1968. She started working at Brown Shoe Company in Selmer, Aqua Glass in Adamsville and then for the Chow Wagon in Henderson for twenty plus years. She loved to cook for her family and take care of her flower garden. She was Church of God in belief.

Mrs. Griswell is survived by two sons, Darrell Griswell of Finger and Ronald Griswell and wife Shay of Henderson; three grandchildren, Taylor Griswell, Peyton Griswell and Riley Griswell; three sisters, Patricia Crowe, Loretta Miller and Brenda Wilson all of Finger and a brother, Joe Riley Chandler of Union City, TN.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two granddaughters, Nicole Griswell and Raven Griswell and four brothers, Edward Chandler, Aubry Chandler, Larry Chandler and Gaylon Chandler.

Funeral services will be 12:00 Noon Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel with Richie Horner and Don Lipford officiating. Burial will follow in Maggie Jones Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Casey Chapel 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Tuesday.
