Billy Evon Gilchrist was born March 19, 1928 in the Gilchrist Community of Stantonville, TN the son of the late Roscoe and Mandy Milford Gilchrist.

Mr. Gilchrist worked as a barber for over 45 years. He enjoyed playing dominos, volunteering with Meal on Wheels, and going to the Senior Center in Adamsville. He had a friendly smile, a volunteering heart, and always had a joke to tell. He served his country honorably in the United States Army and was a member of the Clear Creek Baptist Church in Adamsville, Tennessee.

Mr. Gilchrist departed this life on June 10, 2017 in Adamsville, Tennessee at the age of 89 Years, 2 Months, 22 Days. He is survived by his wife, Frances Gilchrist of Adamsville, TN; three sons, Steve Gilchrist of Selmer, TN, Frankie Gilchrist and wife Susan of Selmer, TN, Wendell Gilchrist of Adamsville, TN; a brother, Joe Gilchrist and wife Mary Nell of Deanburg, TN; three sisters, Linda Sue Moore and husband Kenneth of Bethel Springs, TN, Shirley Bruce of Stantonville, TN, Martha Dudley and husband Karl of Adamsville, TN; 4 Grandchildren, 7 Great Grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Gilchrist was preceded in death by his first wife, Patsy Marie (Harrison) Gilchrist; son, Robert Gilchrist; two brothers, Earl and Gerald Gilchrist.
