Leona Louise Mashburn White, 81, departed this life from her daughter’s residence on Birmingham Ridge on Sunday morning, Jan. 21, 2024 after a brief period of declining health. Louise was born in Blytheville, Arkansas on October 21, l942 to the late William “Bill” Mashburn and Leona Brock Mashburn. After the death of her Mom at an early age, she was raised with her siblings at the Tupelo Children’s Mansion. A Baptist, Louise spent her working life serving others. She worked many years as a runner for Super Bingo Hall in Tupelo, was a florist many years and a dispatcher for Lee-Liberty Cab Company. Louise loved bingo, bowling, fishing, collecting salt and pepper shakers and keeping her finger nails well manicured.

A service celebrating her life will be held at 3:30 PM Saturday, January 27, 2024 in the Sadie Holland Memorial Chapel at Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo with Pastor Ron Cottom officiating assisted by Bro. David Lehman. Michael Patterson will provide music. Visitation will be from 2 PM-service time on Sat. only. Louise is survived by her only daughter, Cindy Leach of Birmingham Ridge; special bonus daughters and dear friends, Pam Robison (Gary), Karen Morris and Lynne Rogers; a special sister, Pat Holt; special “son”, Randy Green (Jan) and a very special nephew who helped care for her, Jody Hampton; a sister, Eva Ann Long (Jim) of Virginia and a brother, Wesley Levi Mashburn (Sandi) of Idaho; and numerous nieces and nephews and their families. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Leona; a son-in-law, Bob Leach; two brothers, Holly Robert Mashburn and William Leroy Mashburn, and a sister, Billie Joy Hampton.
