Leo Peter Junen, 83, of Huntsville, passed away Sunday. Mr. Junen was a graduate of Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute with a BS in Aerospace Engineering, and an MBA from Adelphi University. He had a 38 year career with Grumman Aerospace Corporation, retiring as Huntsville’s Director of Operations. Mr. Junen loved golf, music, family, good Italian food, collecting watches, classic cars and laughter. He also loved his Shih Tzu, Winston. Mr. Junen was a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Bridget Junen. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Mary D. Junen; children, Kendall Junen (Alison) and Colette J. McGill; and grandchildren, Jesse McGill, Patrick Junen, Daniel Junen and Rachel Junen.
Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Friday at St. Thomas Episcopal Church. The funeral service will follow at the church with The Reverend Paul Pradat officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
