Funeral services for Mrs. Lela Mae Maness, age 75, are scheduled for 4 PM, Saturday, August 13, 2016 in the chapel of Pafford Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Independence Cemetery. Mrs. Maness passed away on Thursday in Lexington. She was born August 18, 1940 in Henderson County to the late Wiley and Rexie Crowe Sipes. She cleaned at First Baptist Church in Lexington. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. U. D. “Hoover” Maness; her brother, James Wiley Sipes; and one grandson, Kevin Maness. Survivors include her two sons, Wilburn (Angela) Maness and Ricky Lynn (Lisa) Maness; three sisters, Ruth Rhodes, Cornelia Camper, and Vaudeen (Barney) Moore; four grandchildren, Jennifer Maness, Jason Gourley, Ricky Lynn Maness, Jr., and Tisha Batten; and eight great grandchildren, Tyler Smith, Maci Gourley, Joslyn, Mason, and Presley Batten, Halle and Cole Maness, and Adam Reeves.
