Leila Dare Wallace – Obituary

Funeral service for Mrs. Leila Dare Wallace age 92 of Hartselle will be Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at 3:30pm at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Patsy Carlberg officiating with burial in the Moss Chapel Cemetery with Peck Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be from 1:30pm until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home. 

Mrs. Wallace, who was born on January 21, 1922 in Morgan County to Robert Lee McDonald and Mary Etta McElroy McDonald, died on Sunday, July 20, 2014 at Huntsville Hospital. She was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church and attended Forrest Chapel United Methodist Church. Leila’s granddaughters and great-granddaughters were the joy of her life. She enjoyed flowers, cooking for her family and helping anyone in need. She was preceded in death by her husband; Shirley Coy Wallace. 

She is survived by two sons; Larry M. Wallace (Dottie) of Decatur and Paul Wallace (Becky) of Hartselle. 3 Granddaughters; Lisa Bright and Amanda Miller both of Hartselle and Jennifer Fields of Birmingham. 2 Great-Grandchildren; Nina Halbrooks of Buhl, AL. and Abagale Miller of Hartselle. 

Rassie Wallace, Mike Wallace, Mike Phillips, Mike McLamb, John Fields and Marshall Miller will serve as pallbearers. 

In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to the Moss Chapel Cemetery fund.
