Funeral services for Mr. Lawson R. Ivey, age 78, are scheduled for 2 PM, Saturday, August 8, 2020 in the chapel of Pafford Funeral Home in Scotts Hill. Interment will follow in Pafford Scotts Hill Cemetery. Mr. Ivey passed away Thursday in Lexington. He was born July 5, 1942 in Decatur County to the late Rev. W. C. and Mattie Horton Ivey. He was Baptist in belief, a U.S. Army Veteran, serving as a helicopter mechanic, and a retired truck driver for Ward’s Grain. He enjoyed watching John Wayne westerns and spending time with his grandchildren. He always kept his vehicles in pristine condition. Mr. Ivey was preceded in death by two brothers, Rev. J. C. Ivey and Martin Ivey and one sister, Betty Roach. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Mrs. Sue Attaway Ivey; his son, Brian Ivey (Karen); his daughter, Angela Middleton (Kenneth); his brother, John Ivey (Shirley) his sister, Shirley Renfroe (Pete); sister-in-law, Dorothy Ivey; brother-in-law, W. R. Roach; four grandchildren, Jacqueline Middleton, Dylan Middleton, Jamison Beaver, and Mason Ivey; and five great grandchildren. Due to Covid-19, the family request that all attendees wear a mask and practice social distancing.
