Lawrence Lee Morris, 72, passed away on Friday, January 10, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born July 24, 1952, to L.B. and Opal Josephine Wilson Morris. He worked in construction and did mechanic work for most of his life. He retired from Day-Brite Lighting. He was a true outdoorsman, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. He was a member of Paw Paw’s Hunting Club. He was an avid conversationalist and great storyteller. He definitely never met a stranger.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 12, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jackie Gray officiating. Bobby Bennett will deliver the eulogy. Burial will be in Itawamba Memorial Gardens.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Monica Morris; two sons, Richard Morris (Mistie) of Conroe, TX, and Robert Morris (Stephanie) of Fulton; two brothers, Lonnie Dale Morris (Dorothy) of San Antonio, TX and Gerald Morris of Fulton; two sisters, Lana Stevens of Fulton and Imogene Yielding (Edward) of Belmont; seven grandchildren, Cody Morris, Keegan Davis, Lilly Morris, Tanner Kennedy, Noah Morris, Andrew Morris, and Grayson Morris; one great grandchild, Kendall Morris; several nieces, nephews, and other family members.

He was preceded in death by one brother-in-law, Harold Stevens; one sister-in-law, Dorothy Sue Stegall Morris; and his parents.

Pallbearers will be his nephews, Jason Stevens, Justin Stevens, Eric Stevens, Brad Morris, Jim Ed Yielding, and Anthony Whitten.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Paw Paw’s Hunting Club.

Visitation will be Saturday from 5:00-8:00 p.m. and on Sunday from noon until service time at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home.
