Laura S. Hodges, 98, of Huntsville, passed away June 24, 2014. She was born July 1, 1915. Mrs. Hodges was a member of Union Primitive Baptist Church. She had a day care in her home for 30 years, and was a great cook. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mailon Hodges; infant son, Thomas Earl Hodges; and great-grandson, Jason Maynard.
Survivors include son, Edwin L. Hodges and wife, Edith, of Decatur; grandchildren, Jean and Allan Maynard of Nashville, TN, Edwina and Harwell Gregg of Somerville, Mark and Robin Hodges of Madison and Jeff and Karen Hodges of Florence; eight great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral was Friday, June 27, 2014, at 5 p.m. at Laughlin Service Funeral Home with Elders Darrell Chambers and Gene Thomas officiating. Burial was at 10 a.m. Saturday in Union Cemetery in Woodville.
