Laudra Robert “Sonny” Hodges, age 83, passed away on October 23, 2025. Born on October 22, 1942, in Tampa, Florida.
Sonny served as an officer in the National Guard and built a distinguished career with the Federal Aviation Administration. After retiring from the FAA, he returned to Scottsboro, where he continued to share his passion for aviation as an airport manager and flight instructor at Scottsboro Airport. He was a man of faith, dedication, and an avid Bama football fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Frances Hodges; his wife of 58 years, Joy Garner Hodges; his first grandchild, Michael Stark; and his niece, Lisa Pritchett.
Sonny is survived by his sisters, Carole Hodges Campbell (Dr. David Campbell) and Mary Charles Hodges Parks (Robert Wayne Parks); his daughters, Angela Hodges and Heather Hodges Stark; his nephews, Jeremy Campbell and Robert Parks; his grandchildren, Haley Solace and Phoebe Stark; Lauren, Katie, and Lucas Hodges; great-grandson, Mykah Peters, along with cousins and other extended family.
Graveside Service will be Monday October 27, 2025 at 2:00pm at Cedar Hill Cemetery. The visitation will be Sunday October 26, 2025 from 4:00pm till 7:00pm at Scottsboro Funeral Home.
