Janie McNatt SpurgeonOur beloved Janie McNatt Spurgeon passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, October 23, 2025, after a 4-year journey with Dementia.

Janie’s life can best be encapsulated by these 5 words…..Family, Friends, Food, Fun but most of all Faith in Christ. She loved music, playing the piano, dancing and most of all traveling the world with her two sisters and friends.

Her love for her children and grandchildren was most evident in the countless hours spent at football and baseball fields, tennis courts, trap shoots and motor-cross. Her unwavering love, support and joy she brought to her family will always be cherished.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Melissa Hargett (Mike), Matthew Spurgeon (Jennifer); grandchildren, Evan Hargett (Lacey), Levi Hargett (Haley), Blake Henn (Ashlee), Brayden Spurgeon; great-grandchildren, Averee Henn, Willa and Nora Hargett; sisters, Darnell George and Doris Vincent, brother, Scott McNatt, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Willard (Junior) Spurgeon, parents, Ford and Rosie Jones McNatt.

The visitation will be 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon Saturday, October 25, 2025, at Spry Memorial Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 12:30 p.m. at Franklin Memory Gardens with Bro. Mark Daniel officiating the service. The pallbearers will be the grandsons.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Cottage in Russellville; Sandra, Amanda, Karli and Trish for the loving care at home, and Jenny, Taylor, Melanie and everyone at Hospice of North Alabama for your love and care for our sweet mom and family.
