On 04/02/2025 Agents with the Lauderdale County Drug Task Force began surveillance on an individual while he was at work at a downtown Florence business.
The individual was Tracy Devaughn Pride. Agents had received information that this individual would conduct drug transactions while at work. Pride was observed walking to a vehicle and making what agents believed to be a drug transaction. The vehicle was followed and was stopped by Florence Police Officers. That traffic stop by Florence Police Officers resulted in a trafficking amount of Methamphetamine (ICE) being located. Edward Shane Daugherty was driving the vehicle that was stopped.
Agents continued to monitor Pride. He was seen at one point with a black backpack. Pride left work and Florence Police Officers attempted to stop Pride. Pride fled in his vehicle and a pursuit ensued. The pursuit ended when Pride lost control of his vehicle and ran his car into a house on Minniehaha St. in Florence. During the pursuit, the backpack that Pride was seen with earlier was thrown from the vehicle.
Agents recovered the backpack. Inside of the backpack was a large amount of Cocaine, a large amount of Methamphetamine (ICE) and digital scales. The Cocaine was approximately a pound. The Methamphetamine (ICE) weighed over 250 grams (over half a pound).
Due to the injuries Pride received during the wreck he was not charged with the drugs at that time. A warrant was obtained for Pride’s arrest once he was treated and released for his injuries. That warrant was served on 04/07/2025. Warrant was also served on Edward Shane Daughtery for Trafficking in Methamphetamine.
