LAUDERDALE COUNTY-Since September 21, 2015, the Lauderdale County License Commissionerโs Office has been conducting a test pilot program allowing county residents to renew their motor vehicle registration and tags at a kiosk located in the Rogersville Town Hall Building. Lauderdale County License Commissioner William Smith said, โWhile county residents can renew their tags online, some residents may not have access to a personal computer or smart device to do so. This kiosk will allow Lauderdale County
residents, especially those who live in the eastern part of Lauderdale County, to renew their tags in Rogersville without having to drive to Florence.โ
License Commissioner William Smith said, โWhile this kiosk is not a satellite courthouse office with license clerks, technological innovations have made it possible for the people of Lauderdale County to have the next closest thing, a kiosk to renew their car, truck and trailer tags.โ The kiosk is developed by IMS Enterprises, a Lauderdale County company. The kiosk runs a similar tag renewal software program that county residents will find on IMSโs website, www.RenewYourTag.com. In order to successfully use the kiosk, county residents will need the following four items.
1. The Alabama driver license number and expiration date for one of the owners of each vehicle to be renewed.
2. The Alabama automobile insurance card for the vehicle to be renewed. It should include policy number, coverage dates, NAIC number and the VIN (vehicle identification number).
3. The tag number of the vehicle to be renewed and the PIN (personal identification number) from the renewal notice.
4. A credit or debit card for payment.
After a kiosk transaction is completed, the user will receive a paper receipt listing the
vehicle(s) renewed and amount paid. If a kiosk user needs help, they can call 256-275-4042 Monday through Friday from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm. The License Commissionerโs Office will mail the customer their tag decals three to five business days after successfully paying through the kiosk. A small fee is charged by IMS Enterprises to maintain the kiosk. The Rogersville kiosk is available to the public daily from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Lauderdale County residents will now have seven ways to renew their tags and motor vehicle registrations. Tags can be renewed by mail, in person at the License Commissionerโs Office, through the License Commissionerโs drive through, using one of the two License Commissionerโs overnight drop boxes, through the website, www.RenewYourTag.com, over the telephone at 256-275-4042 (Monday through Friday from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm), and now at the new Rogersville kiosk.
