FLORENCE-On October 8th, 2026, Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office Investigators received information from the Halifax Police Department in Canada concerning an adult male residing in Lauderdale County communicating with a juvenile online in their jurisdiction. During the initial investigation, the adult male was identified as Jake Timothy King and it was discovered that Mr. King was sending nude photos and videos to the juvenile in Halifax.

On the morning of October 21st, 2026, investigators with the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office along with agents from the FBI and ALEA conducted a search warrant on Mr. King’s residence and place of employment to collect his electronic devices and media storage devices. After completing the search warrants, Mr. King was placed under arrest for five counts of transmitting obscene material to a minor.
More charges are expected after the completion of the forensic analysis of Mr. King’s electronic devices.
