Larry Woods, age 74, passed away Sunday, May 28, 2023, in Jackson. Mr. Woods, the son of the late Samuel Troy Wood and Maxine Hays Wood, was born August 21, 1948, in Henderson County, Tennessee. He was a maintenance worker for Johnson Controls in Lexington. He was also a Vietnam veteran, having served the U.S. Marines. He enjoyed fishing and camping.
Mr. Woods is survived by his wife, Becky Nichols Woods; a daughter, Deanna Ward (Phil); four brothers: Sam Wood (Amy), Rick Wood (Gail), Tim Wood, John Wood (Etta); four sisters: Louise Hays (Tom), Linda Hays, Sue Bobbitt (James); Sharon Woods (Randall); three grandchildren: Cody Powers (Mallory), Lacey Lewis, Christina Dunivan (Chad); and four great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jeff Powers, and a brother Jerry Wood.
Visitation with the family will be at Pafford Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, from 5:00-8:00 PM, and on Thursday, 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM. Mr. Woods’ funeral is scheduled for 2:00 PM on Thursday, June 1, in the Chapel of Pafford Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Rock Hill Cemetery.
