Larry Keith Blackstock Larry Keith Blackstock, 59, passed away at his home in Huntsville, AL on Saturday, June 12, 2021. Born on December 29, 1961, in Kosciusko, MS, he spent his childhood there and graduated with honors from Kosciusko High School as a National Merit Finalist. He then attended Holmes Community College, Mississippi State University, and the University of Mississippi.

The majority of his professional career was spent as a software developer for several companies in various locations and as a self-employed software consultant. In 2009 he moved to Huntsville from his home in Kansas City to be closer to family. Larry was an avid fisherman and golfer, enjoyed playing his guitar and caring for his dog, Sparky. He was skilled in many different disciplines and could fix just about anything, was well-read and knowledgeable on a large variety of subjects, and knew computers inside and out, both hardware and software. Foremost, Larry was a man of faith and a dedicated Christian.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Velma Blackstock; sister, Beverly Vickery; and brother, Jim Blackstock. His surviving family includes his eldest sister, Ruth Simmons, who subsequently passed away the following month; nieces and nephews, Felicia Baker, Rex Simmons, Nicole Vickery, Alicia Vickery, Chris Blackstock, and Paul Blackstock, and their respective children and grandchildren. He is also survived by close long-time childhood friends, Brad McLemore, Joseph Guyton, Doug Ewing, and numerous others.

His memorial service will be held at 10 AM Saturday, August 14, 2021, at Weatherly Heights Baptist Church in Huntsville, AL with Dr. David Freeman officiating. His remains will be interred with his parents in a private ceremony at Parkway Cemetery in Kosciusko, MS.
