Larry Franklin McClure
Born on December 6, 1946, in Fayetteville, TN, Larry Franklin McClure journeyed through life with a spirit of unwavering dedication, love, and honor. On May 8, 2024, he peacefully departed this world, leaving behind a legacy that will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew him.
Larry proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, where fate introduced him to his beloved soulmate, Janice, while stationed at Tyndall Air Force Base. Their love blossomed into a lifelong partnership filled with joy, adventure, and unwavering devotion. Together, they embarked on a new chapter in Huntsville, where Larry dedicated himself to a fulfilling career at Boeing until his well-deserved retirement.
Throughout his life, Larry cherished the bonds of family above all else. Together with Janice, they raised four remarkable children, shaping their lives with wisdom, kindness, and boundless love. Larry’s pride and joy extended to his five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, each one a testament to the enduring legacy of love and compassion he cultivated within his family.
Larry’s memory is embraced by his cherished wife of 54 years, Janice McClure, and his dear sister, Gwenda McClure. He is also survived by his loving children and their spouses: Joseph (Heather) McClure, Travis (Chris) McClure, and Becky McClure Patrick. He leaves his legacy to his grandsons, Chase McClure, Caleb Holder and Aiden Dobbs, and granddaughters, Jordan Richards and Abigail Hornbuckle. Though preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Lucille McClure, sister Jean Porch, and his son Stevie McClure, daughter Laura, and son-in-law Brian Patrick, Larry’s spirit lives on in the hearts of those who were touched by his kindness, warmth, and gentle spirit.
In addition to his immediate family, Larry’s love extended to his nieces, nephews, and a vast circle of relatives and friends, all of whom were touched by his gentle spirit, generosity, and unwavering kindness.
In every moment, Larry exemplified the true essence of love, selflessness, and compassion. His sense of humor was unmatched, and he was always ready to make you smile with a “bad dad” joke or something funny. His legacy will forever remain a beacon of light, guiding those who were fortunate enough to know him. As we bid farewell to a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, may we find solace in the cherished memories and enduring love he leaves behind.

Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 19, 2024, at Laughlin Service Funeral Home, with the service following in the chapel. Entombment will be in Huntsville Memory Gardens.
