LACEY’S SPRING-The Morgan County Sheriff’s Department issued a statement concerning the arrest of a suspect who has been charged Electronic Solicitation of a Child:
“On December 14, 2021, Sheriff’s Office Investigator Williams obtained a felony arrest warrant on Cecil Anthony West for Electronic Solicitation of a Child. The charges are the result of an investigation that began on November 7, 2021, involving the Electronic Solicitation of a Child under the age of 12 years old.
On December 16, 2021, Investigator Williams and Brooks with the assistance of the Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division attempted to arrest West at his residence in the 9000 block of Highway 36 E, but he was not home at the time. Shortly afterward, Investigator Brooks observed Mr. West traveling in a vehicle on Highway 36 in the area of E Upper River Rd. Investigator Williams was able to initiate a traffic stop on the vehicle at Highway 36 E and Lower Dry Creek Rd.
Cecil Anthony West, 57 of Lacey’s Spring, was arrested, charged with Electronic Solicitation of A Child. He was transported to and booked in the Morgan County Jail with a $50,000 Bond.
