Hillsboro Juvenile Charged With Shooting Three People In Lawrence County

 LAWRENCE COUNTY-On December 16 the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department was called to a shooting incident at County Road 375 in Lawrence County.  Sheriff Max Sanders said upon arrival the ere was an active shooting incident and several people were injured in the shooting:

Shooting update: December 17th, 2021.
Arrest:
Joseph Brody Laine Garrison 17 years of age from Hillsboro, AL has been arrested and charged with two counts of Assault in the 1st degree and one count of Assault in the 2nd degree. This afternoon Joseph Garrison was transferred from the Department of Youth Services to the Lawrence County Jail. His bond was set at $150,000.00 dollars. Sheriff Max Sanders is asking for the community to keep those involved in this situation in their thoughts and prayers.
Victims update:
1. (1) 17 year old male victim is in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit at Huntsville Hospital in fair condition due to a gunshot injury.
2. (1) 20 year old male victim (Jacob Garrison) is in the Intensive Care Unit at UAB hospital in critical condition due to a gunshot injury. ( this is the previous reported person that the injuries were unknown) Jacob is not related to Joseph Garrison (arrestee) to our knowledge.
3. (1) 18 year old male victim (Dallas Proctor) is in the Intensive Care Unit at UAB hospital in good condition due to a gunshot injury.
New details surrounding the shooting incident: Joseph Garrison (arrestee) and at least one of the gunshot victims got into an altercation over a female acquaintance. A struggle ensued over control of the firearm (.22 caliber revolver) and two other people were shot.
2pm update: December 17th, 2021.
1. Names of victims and names of persons in custody are not being released in this update.
2. (1) 17 year old male victim is in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit at Huntsville Hospital in stable condition due to a gunshot injury.
3. (1) 20 year old male victim is in the Intensive Care Unit at UAB hospital in critical condition due to a gunshot injury. ( this is the previous reported person that the injuries were unknown)
4. (1) 18 year old male victim is in the Intensive Care Unit at UAB hospital in good condition due to a gunshot injury.
5. (1) 17 year old male juvenile is still in custody and being held by Department of Youth Services.

3am update December 17th, 2021.
On December 16th, 2021, at approximately 6:35pm the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office was notified by Lawrence County 911 of a possible shooting. Deputies and Officers with the Moulton Police Department responded to the scene. Sheriff Max Sanders states one juvenile is in custody and being transferred to the Department of Youth Services. Sheriff Sanders says the shooting occurred in a parking lot on Lawrence County Road 375. Three people were injured and taken to area hospitals, two of the three are being treated for gun shoot wounds. The third victim received serious injuries and the extent of their injuries are unknown. This investigation involves juveniles that were injured, and those names will not be released at this time. Investigators believe this incident started because of an altercation between juveniles where a gun was produced by one of the juveniles during the altercation. This investigation remains fluid, and we ask for those with additional information to come forward.
Sheriff Sanders with like to thank the Moulton Police Department and firefighters that helped in this investigation.
