L. R. Harris, Jr. age 92, Haleyvillle, AL. passed away Saturday August 4, 2012 at his home. He was born in Booneville, MS., the son of the late Lee and Ara Harris. His visitation will be held on Monday August 6, 2012 5:00-8:00 PM at Pinkard Funeral Home-Haleyville, with his funeral on Tuesday at 11:00 AM in the chapel, with his grandson’s Jason Jent and Mark Jent officiating, with burial to follow at Hillcrest City Cemetery. Pallbearers are Tommy Howard, Max Ray Hutcheson, Paul Lisieski, Andy Kizer, Vance Hutton, Haley Dobbs, Mark Jent and Jason Jent; Honorary Pallbearers are Gene Bond and Ninth Avenue Church of Christ Elders and Deacons. L.R. served in the the United States Army during WWII, charter member of American Legion-Haleyville, member of Haleyville Lions Club, charter member of World War II Memorial, worked with his family at Harris Drug Store, later worked for the United States Postal Service,a member of Ninth Avenue Church of Christ-Haleyville. He is survived by his wife Addie White Harris; daughter’s, Pat Jent and Beckie Tedford; sisters, Mabeline Yarber and Frances Harris; grandchildren, Laura Jent, Jason (Sharon) Jent and Mark (Beth) Jent; great grandchildren; Jordan, Jared, Brooklyn and Harrison Jent.
