FLORENCE-On August 5, 2024, at around 2 PM, officers responded to a business in the Seven
Points Shopping Center for a threatening call.
Upon arrival, officers detained a male fitting the suspect’s description outside the business. After further investigation,
Ron Brown
officers learned that the male did not have enough money to pay for his groceries, so he
pulled out a knife and attempted to leave with the groceries. Employees were able to get
the groceries from him. He then pulled the knife out for a second time and made
additional threats to harm them.
The Male was identified as Ron Brown, 59, from Florence. Brown was arrested and charged with Robbery 1st degree.
Ron Brown is being held at the Lauderdale County Detention Center without
bond pending an Aniah’s Law hearing.
Ron Brown is considered innocent until proven guilty.
