Kevin Leon Castle was born to Leon and LaVonne Castle on March 26, 1977. Kevin was brought home to Grant, AL, where he would live the rest of his childhood and most of his adulthood. Kevin was about seven years old when his lil sis Kari was born. When Kari got big enough, Kevin showed her how to play and make hideouts where he would give names in the woods behind their house. On July 4, 1991, as a fourteen-year-old boy, Kevin received the precious HolyGhost, where he met his best friend, Jesus Christ. Kevin graduated from KDS DAR High School in 1996. After high school, he started working at Vintage Pharmaceutical in manufacturing and then in maintenance. Kevin worked many years there, making a lot of lifelong friends.
The Lord blessed Kevin with two wonderful children that he adored. He spent many hours with his children, especially his son, Travis. Kevin and Travis were always together. They both had the same sense of humor and would laugh with each other over just the little things. His daughter, Mollie, was the sparkle in his eye. Mollie was all about looking after her Dad and making sure he was taken care of alongside her brother. Mollie was the one who would see to it that he had good gifts for different holidays. Kevin loved his children, and they loved him.
There were four little boys that came into his life that were his sisters children that he deeply loved. These boys could do no wrong in his eyes, and to them, their Uncle Kevin was the best. He would take them on motorcycle rides up and down our dead-end road, and they thought that was the coolest.
Kevin enjoyed riding his motorcycle and seeing all the beautiful sites the Lord had made. He enjoyed being with his family and spending time with them. Kevin enjoyed going to church and being with church friends from his youth up. One thing Kevin truly believed in doing was showing his love. He would send people texts or call them on the phone, as well as send handwritten notes. Even though Kevin didn’t have much, he tried his best to give what he could to people in need. Kevin was a kind, loving man whom his family and friends will deeply miss. He has gone to a far better place than this old world—where no heartache will ever come.
One special thing that Kevin thoroughly enjoyed was grilling out for his family. He could grill some of the best steaks in the world. Grilling out was one of his true passions. He loved Memorial Day and Labor Day cookouts, where his grilling abilities shine through.
Another thing that Kevin was passionate about was his coffee. He liked it black and strong. He likes his coffee Castle Strong. He would get up early in the mornings and go to the School to have a good cup of coffee with his Daddy.
Kevin, we love you and miss you, but we hold the promise of the Lord that we will meet you again on the streets of Gold! Love you!
