Mr. Kenneth Dewayne Fortner Mr. Kenneth Dewayne Fortner, age 68, of Flat Rock, Alabama passed away on Monday, April 22, 2024.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. EST on Sunday, April 28, 2024 at Higdon Free Holiness Church with Reverend Edwin Spurgeon & Reverend Michael Clark officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 27, 2024 from 12:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. EST at the Higdon Free Holiness Church.

Kenneth is survived by his wife, Jennifer Faye Harris Fortner; children, Samantha (Jason) Michaels, Sabrina (David) Gilbert, Serena (Josh) Holcomb; grandchildren, Katrina (Jordan) Slay, Kaylie Michaels, Mahaylie (Corey) Chance, Makenna Gilbert, Nataleigh Holcomb, Zeke Holcomb, Dawson Gilbert, Owen Gilbert; great-grandson, Lincoln Chance; brother & sisters-in-law, James & Judy Fortner, Ray & Sherry Fortner, Barry & Kelli Fortner; sister & brother-in-law, Charity & Chris Lowrance; brother-in-law & sister-in-law, Doug & Faye Reeves; Several Nephews & Nieces.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Aubrey Fortner; mother, Mattie-Mae Lovvorn Fortner; maternal grandparents, Ephraim Riley Lovvorn & Cora Small Lovvorn; paternal grandparents, James Harley Fortner & Bernie-Mae Gibson Fortner.

Kenny was born August 5, 1955, in Arab, Alabama. He was a 1974 graduate of Kirkman Technical High School. He was Journeyman Machinist having worked for TVA and Ortmier Machine Shop. He was the founder and owner of A&K Metals for 39 years. Kenny was a faithful member of the Higdon Free Holiness Church for over 40 years.

Kenny was a jolly man who never met a stranger. He was a wise and generous businessman who helped many during his time here. He had many different hobbies through the years including: gardening, fishing, hunting, drawing, woodturning, pottery, & many others. Kenny will be greatly missed by his Wife, Children, Grandchildren, extended family, & many friends.

The family would like to Thank Hospice of Alabama and Amedisys Home Health for their tireless efforts in caring for our wonderful husband, father, and grandfather.
